November 2 1987: Howie Mandel hosts the annual Juno Awards in Toronto for the second and last time. 2006: John Shand, guitarist for Manchild, Thor, etc., was discovered dead in his car near Barrie.
November 4 1985: SCTV's Andrea Martin & Joe Flaherty host the annual Juno Awards in Toronto. 2006: Robbie Robertson is among the recipients at the Governor General's Performing Arts Awards Gala in Ottawa.
November 5 1947: Don McDougall, Guess Who guitarist, is born in Winnipeg. 1959: Bryan Adams is born in Kingston, ON. 1965: Robbie Robertson, then guitarist for Bob Dylan, is in the New York Hilton when the city suffers a blackout. He screams, "I want my mommy." 1977: Big band great Guy Lombardo dies. 2001: Default release THE FALLOUT. 2002: Jann Arden releases her live album with the Vancouver Symphony. Guess what it's called ... that's right ... JANN ARDEN LIVE WITH THE VANCOUVER SYMPHONY.
1946: Peter Jermyn of Luke & The Apostles is born in Kingston, Ontario. 1982: "Up Where We Belong," performed by Joe Cocker but written by Buffy Sainte-Marie tops Billboard's Top 100. 2001: Jann Arden releases GREATEST HURTS.
1951: Nick Gilder is born in London, UK. 1974: Bachman Turner Overdrive finish off the concert year with a show at New York's Fillmore East. 2003: Neil Young appears at a show in Hong Kong with the Rolling Stones to quel fears of a SARS epidemic. It's the Stones' first time there, and such high fees were charged for their appearances that it reportedly costs Hong Kong taxpayers over $100 million.
November 8 1984: Bruce Cockburn releases "If I Had A Rocket Launcher," the day after Ronald Reagan was elected for a second term as US President.
November 9 1974: Bachman Turner Overdrive sees "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet" top the Billboard's singles charts. 1993: Bryan Adams releases his first 'best of' collection, SO FAR SO GOOD. 2000: John Kay & Steppenwolf release the CD, GREATEST HITS LIVE, whose theme should be self-evident. 2003: Helix re-releases WALKING THE RAZOR'S EDGE on CD in the US. 2004: Originally released in '81, Triumph re-releases ALLIED FORCES, STAGES, and NEVER SURRENDER in the US. 2004: Helix releases the 'best of' package, ROCKIN' YOU FOR 30 YEARS. 2007: Gordon Lightfoot receives the Canadian Hall of Fame Award, presented by Bob Dylan. 1998: Rush releases DIFFERENT STAGES, a collection of live concerts over the years. 2005: The original 1978 version of One Horse Blue reunited for a one-time event during the Canadian Finals Rodeo week at the Shaw Conference Centre, "Cowboy Cabaret" put on by the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce. Also on the bill were the band's heroes Poco and Pure Prairie League.

November 12 1966: Riots at Hollywood's Sunset Strip provide the inspiration for Buffalo Springfield's "For What It's Worth." featuring Neil Young. 1975: Triumph make their concert debut at the Knob Hill Tavern in Toronto. 1989: Andrew Cash joins Melissa Etheridge, Joe Cocker, and several German bands, including The Scorpions for a free concert at the Berlin Wall, as citizens are allowed to move freely between East and West Germany for the first time since the beginning of the Cold War. 2007: Tom Cochrane is officially named an Honorary Colonel for 409 Tactical Squadron in a ceremony at CFB Cold Lake, Alberta. He's no stranger to the military, having made several stops at 4 Wing before, and participating in "Support the Troops" tours. His father was also a WWII pilot.
November 13 1982: Lee Aaron's debut, the LEE AARON PROJECT is released on Freedom Records.
November 14 1982: Joni Mitchell's WILD THINGS RUN FAST is released.
November 15 1974: Chad Kroeger of Nickelback is born in Hanna, AB. 2005: Jim Gilmour of Saga releases his second solo lp, GREAT ESCAPE. 2005: A WORK IN PROGRESS, an indepth look at Jann Arden's life and career, is released on DVD.

Nov 19 1981: RE-AC-TOR, Neil Young's 16th and final album for Reprise Records, until his return to the label in 1988, is released. 1983: Loverboy are the featured group on Saturday Night Live. 2006: Hometown girlNelly Furtado performs during half time at the Grey Cup in Winnipeg, where BC beat Montreal handily.
November 20 1947: Keith McKie of Kensington Market is born in St. Albans, Herts, England 1993: Seventeen years after their last live performance, the reunited The Band – minus Robbie Robertson and the late Richard Manual – release a new album, JERICHO.
November 21 2006: Nelly Furtado appears at the American Music Awards, where Nickelback wins best rock group.
November 22 2006: John Allan Cameron dies at the age of 67. He'd been hospitalized for over year with cancer.
November 23 2004: Trooper re-releases TWO FOR THE SHOW on CD through MCA in the US. 2004: Stampeders release another 'best of' – appropriately entitled BEST OF THE STAMPEDERS on UniDisc.

November 26 1933: Robert Goulet, who later moved to Edmonton where the acting and singing bugs first bit him, is born in Massacheussetts. 1982: At a ceremony at her manager's Malibu, CA home, Joni Mitchell marries bass player Larry Klein. 1996: Barney Bentall releases his first, 'best of' collection on CD.
November 27 1987: The Cowboy Junkies record THE TRINITY SESSION at the Church of the Holy Trinity in Toronto. The next year, the Los Angeles Times votes the album one of the ten best of the year. 2000: Jann Arden releases BLOOD RED CHERRY.
November 28 1993: Steppenwolf drummer Jerry Edmonton is killed in a car crash, not far from his Santa Barbara, California home at the age of 47. 2002: Anvil releases BACKWAXED, originally a 1985 product. 2002: Goddo re-releases BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE and PRETTY BAD BOYS on CD.

November 30 2000: Scott Smith, bass player for Loverboy is proclaimed dead after a boating accident in San Fransisco Bay. His body was never found.
